Despite our regular maintenance work, some major remedial work now needs to take place on our hall.
A recent survey has shown that the main facade requires a huge amount of remedial work to stop the leakage problems and stabilise the whole gable end. This entails re-siting coping stones, adding lead flashing, and replacing all lime mortar on the front of the building. The cost estimate is about £29,000 plus planning and listed building costs.
In addition, other major problems have arisen:
1. The boiler in the Revelstoke Room needs replacing
2. The wall adjacent to the stream needed repointing
3. Rotting rear doors and windows in the Revelstoke Room.
We recognise the huge value of the Village Hall, providing a beautiful landmark as well as facilities for local events, and we are committed to preserve the building for generations to come.
A huge ‘thank you’ to those who have already responded to our plea for help; we are on our way to raising the much needed funds.
We still have some way to go though, so if you would like to sponsor a space on the façade, please use the donation form below. We plan to make a picture of the façade with the names of any donors who would like their names on there.
Very many thanks for your support.
